Block's History
Since 1979, appliance service and repair have been in the Block family blood. Chris Block was raised, trained and employed by his father Walter, until he purchased the family business, known as JD Commercial Appliance. Having built a successful foundation with local restaurants, institutions and wineries, the business grew annually until Chris sold it in 2010 to pursue new opportunities beyond the Okanagan.
Despite building new skills and experience in roles such as Service Manager for Russell Food Equipment and Lead Project Manager at Pacific Restaurant Supply, Chris couldn’t shake the desire to own his own business once again. The decision finally took Chris back to Kelowna, returning him to his roots.
Thirty-five years after his father before him, Chris Block launched Block’s Commercial Kitchen. Focused on knowledgeable expertise, quality customer service, and community values, Block’s is proud to continue the family tradition that Walter began.
